About the Author
Saxophonist Bobby Stern comes from a musical family, (which includes sister, singer Jennifer Rush, and professional opera singing parents) and grew up in New York City. Bobby was constantly surrounded by all types of music, but it was not until his late teens after attending the High School of Music and Art that he considered music as a vocation.
By that time he had moved with his family to Germany. There he received his first recording contract, which led to the formation of the group "Head, Heart & Hands", an Afro-Caribbean Jazz ensemble, which became quite popular; appearing throughout much of Europe.
Mr. Stern has subsequently performed and recorded with many major jazz and pop & rock artists, among them Thad Jones, Tete Montoliou, Marvin Gaye, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Jennifer Rush, et al, as well as with a number of his own groups.
Returning to New York, Bobby spent most of his time freelancing, writing and producing. His CD, "Ten to 2", on his own Human Bean label, features Bobby exclusively on the Akai E W I.
