About the Author
David Bradley is a Reader at the University of Surrey, Secretary of the International Radiation Physics Society and edits the journal Applied Radiation and Isotopes. His research interests concern photon scattering, radioanalytical techniques for determination of trace element concentrations and the development of synchrotron techniques for the characterisation of media.

Professor Dudley Creagh, Professor and Director of Cultural Heritage Research, is an expert in the design and development of new analytical equipment, especially equipment using synchrotron radiation, for the study of materials, especially cultural heritage artefacts. He had led research on such topics as valuable medals (e.g., Victoria Cross), the protection of objects against corrosion, Australian aboriginal bark paintings, and the degradation ofiron-gall inks on parchments, movie film, and painted surfaces.

About the Author
James Fieser is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He received his B.A. from Berea College, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Philosophy from Purdue University. He is author, co-author or editor of ten textbooks, including Philosophy: A Historical Survey with Essential Readings (9/e 2014), Scriptures of the World's Religions (5/e 2014), Ethics: Discovering Right and Wrong (7/e 2012), Business Ethics and the Bottom Line (2012), A Historical Introduction to Philosophy (2003), and Moral Philosophy through the Ages (2001). He has edited and annotated the ten-volume Early Responses to Hume (2/e 2005) and the five-volume Scottish Common Sense Philosophy (2000). Samuel Enoch Stumpf was Emeritus Professor of Philosophy and Emeritus Professor of Law at Vanderbilt University prior to his death in 1998, at the age of eighty. He earned a B.S. in Business and Finance from the University of California at Los Angeles, a B.D. in Theology from Andover Newton Theological School, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Chicago. He joined the Vanderbilt faculty in 1948 and served as Chair of the Philosophy Department from 1952 to 1967. After a five-year term as President of Cornell College, Professor Stumpf returned to Vanderbilt, where he remained until his retirement in 1984. Professor Stumpf’s publications include Democratic Manifesto (1954), Morality and the Law (1966), and four McGraw-Hill textbooks: Socrates to Sartre: A History of Philosophy (1966; 6th ed., posthumous, 1999); Philosophical Readings: Selected Problems (1971; 4th ed., 1994); Philosophy: History and Problems (1971; 5th ed., 1994); and Elements of Philosophy: An Introduction (1979; 3rd ed., 1993).

Good, but ridiculously expensive for a paperback

This appears to be an excellent book. However, $205+ is a ridiculous price for any paperback. (I understand the costs of researching, writing, editing, and overall book production - what I'm questioning, here, is the quality of the book itself. Given the relative inexpensiveness of binding, a book that costly should be hardbound, to last longer.) Not that students have a lot of choice - they're a rather captive market.

A Valuable Resource for getting rid of things I'm not using and Making Money at the same time.

You have heard the old adage, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

That is exactly what Dennis does in “The Product Hunter’s Guide.” He teaches you how to locate a countless supply of discounted and undiscovered products to resell for a profit.

Amazingly, a lot of the stuff we can find to resell is right under our noses. I was sitting on a gold mine and didn’t even know it. LOL.

This is not a “get rich quick,” book. This book is a valuable resource of 27 chapters of creative tips and strategies that goes way beyond yard sales and thrift shops.

Like a news reporter has a nose for news, Dennis has an eye for products and is not jealous in sharing inside information about where these treasures can be found.

He includes seven bonus reports he will give you, just for the asking. That's worth the price of this book. If you plan to sell anything on Amazon, eBay or Craigslist you will be using this guide repeatedly. I highly recommend “The Product Hunter’s Guide.”

Surprisingly valuable, for the price!

I have bought over 1,000 "free" ebooks for my kindle; and probably 200 or more that I actually paid for. In my opinion, most of the free books are "ok", in that their content, or lack thereof, doesn't surprise me.......HOWEVER......for the 99 cent price of THIS book, I was truly amazed! It is a true "eye-opener" for anyone who wants to try their hand at re-selling ANY kind of merchandise...be it old clothing, books, or even cars. I have had a moderate amount of success with reselling garage sale bought items on craigslist; but I was TOTALLY unaware of the idea of hitting up the local thrift shops! The author is concise,practical, and to the point. (The only reason I didn't give it 5 Stars was because of a few too many grammatical errors)... but I did find 11 new sources of product in my hometown to use! Thank you, Dennis J. Hester! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good , proven way to make some extra money!

This will work if you're motivated. I've done this in the past, (buying & selling products procured from different sources) & I stopped after getting a "regular" job. Big mistake on my part, because I made some decent money while doing it. Now, since I got layed off again, I plan to work a little harder at it & maybe I won't need to get a "regular" job again,

The Third Book in a Four-Part Series of Books on the Armies of Imperial China is Reviewed

This book is actually the third of a four-part series of books on the Armies of Imperial China. This book covers the period of time from 590 C.E. (Common Era) until 1260 C.E. in Chinese History. Thus, this book deals with the armies of the Imperial Chinese government during the Sui (589 C.E. through 618 C.E.), Tang (618 C.E. until 907 C.E.), Liao (947 C.E. through 1125 C.E. and Sung (960 C.E. through 1260) Dynasties of China. China during this time was suffering through a series of civil wars. The Sui Dynasty reunified China in 581 C.E. However, even as the dynasties listed above followed one after another, the entire period of time was punctuated by brief periods of chaos and civil war. There was a period of time from 907 C.E. until 959 C.E. which is known as the period of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms. This was the period of time between the downfall of the Tang Dynasty and the reunification of China under the Sung dynasty.

This book is very good reference for a reader while the reader is reading other books on Chinese history of the period from 590 C.E. until 1260 C.E. Like most other books published by Osprey Publishing Company, this book has a chronology of events of the period of time and has maps of China during the time under discussion.

Imperial Chinese Armies Volume 2

Firstly, I would ask the reader to pay no heed to the previous review that only gave this title two stars. This text is highly informative, readably covering the armies of Imperial China from Yang Chien's reunification of China to Kubilai Khan's final campaign against the Sung. The history of the Army is broken down by dynasty; each section examining the history, leaders, and weaponry of the dynastic armies. Military science (including siegecraft and artillery), military thought, and nine important battles are lastly dealt with. The battles section is particularly useful, as the author used specific campaigns to illustrate his points throughout the book.

Like Christa Hook (one of my favorite Osprey artists), Michael Perry's artwork is often bashed on Amazon reviews. I never saw any of his work until I bought this book, but was not remotely disappointed. Though he may be no Angus McBride (but then again, who is?), his artwork is colorful and detailed; his individual subjects have realistic facial expressions, and the armor and clothing details are excellent. Plate 'F', showing a brave northern Sung light swordsman clashing with a cavalryman, is my favorite.

In short, this is another good title by Osprey Publishing on the armies of ancient/medieval China, and is a great source textually and visually for the historian or wargamer.

Informative and Enjoyable

Imperial Chinese Armies 2 covers a significant time period in the history of warfare. It was during this time frame that gunpowder was invented and the Mongols became an empire. Beginning with the short-lived but important Sui dynasty the author then moves through the T'ang and Song periods. Also discussed are smaller but never-the-less important dynasties such as the Hsia in Northwest China which boasted a formidable military before being swept away during two Mongol invasions. For someone who is not an expert in Chinese (and I am certainly not) Osprey has provided readers with a concise but highly informative volume dealing with land and naval forces/warfare in medieval China. The book is enhanced by maps, colored artwork illustrating warriors from various dynaties, and a section near the end briefly highlighting individual important battles such as An Lu Shan's victory over the T'ang at the Tung Pass.
